getting kids to read is hard. I've tried to read to classes a few times (and got a little kid who actually swore at me! O,O) so I can agree trying to get them interested is often a hard thing to do. But when I worked at the bookstore I loved helping people find books especially children. I would ask the parents if they needed help and then ask the child what they like. often the answer was cars, princesses, pirates, fairies, dogs or cats. But I was always able to find a book that they could read, or that their parents could read to them.
So here I made a list of great Step into reading beginner books!
